Purple Hearts At Ft. Hood?

This will be interesting to watch.

Should the soldiers at Ft. Hood be awarded Purple Hearts? As a recipient of the award myself, I think they should. But if I were a wagering man, I'd wager the Bozama administration won't award them.
Why?
Because they're trying desperately to make us believe we're not at war. The Purple Heart is awarded only to those "injured in combat by enemy action."

-This administration now won't even use the term "War on terror".
-They are bringing the 9/11 perps to New York to try them as criminals, rather than allow, as we have in wars past, military tribunals to prosecute their cases.

They won't want to admit this is what it is... the act of an enemy combatant during a war, even though we now know Major Malik Nidal Hasan was a "Soldier for Allah" in frequent contact with Al Quaeda operatives and was sending most of his pay to Pakistan to support some sort of nefarious activity.

Watch and see what happens here...
Those dead and wounded heroes will be awarded some kind of medal to thank them for their service...
But I'll bet they don't get Purple Hearts.
Insane.

More detail on the subject here.

It's not the first time that Obama has defended or befriended a known terrorist.

Or, even the second:

It won't be the last.

I think I can safely assume that a purple heart is NOT a medal anyone wwants to earn. So, now I'm curious, do you have the story of how you earned yours posted here? If so, I want the link. If not, now's the time to tell the story.

In the upper left hand corner of the blog there is a search box next to the "Blogger" B, Rita. You can type key words in there and it will display those posts at "Pitchpull" that contain those words.
I just typed "Purple Heart" there and four or five posts were displayed.
This is the one explaining why I am almost embarrassed to wear the medal.

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan is not a terrorist, he is a traitor.
And yes, the soldiers at Ft. Hood should receive the Purple Heart.

My friend, you came very close to dying that day so I see absolutely no reason for you to be embarrassed. I can't even imagine what it was like over there.

The soldiers at Fort Hood were killed by an avowed enemy of this country and our military. The coward wore our uniform and committed a terrorist act.

If Obama doesn't award Purple Hearts to these heroes, he is as big a coward.

Holy Shxx. I had to keep re-reading the story. I'm glad I cannot imagine what that must have been like.

I'm with CJ here. There's no embarrassment in getting mostly missed. You wear that medal proudly, you didn't "win" it, you earned it. Like the CMH it stands for the ones that didn't make it back as much as the ones who did.

Rita's comment is perfect, and is why you should wear it with honor. The reason you earned that medal is so that she could never comprehend what it was like. In this, you were successful and God bless you for it. I've been known to say that it's our own fault... our military has done such a good job of confronting evil on foreign shores that we no longer understand what it's like... what freedom from fear is worth as a nation. People like Rita make me rethink that theory. Those who don't know what it's like to live in fear but who appreciate the fact that they don't make it all worth it.

jinksto: Glad you understood exactly what I meant. People that sacrificed so much did so that I would NEVER have to understand what they went through. Thanks Vets for helping to keeping me in the dark. God Bless all of them.
