Ukraine III

Is this Russia's "Viet Nam"?
Or at least a repeat of their Afghanistan experience?
No.
It's worse. "Pacified" Kherson is kicking their ass.

LL made an observation our top brass are all mountebanks. It appears the same with Russia. You had personal experience with that mentality in Vietnam. There are no Pattons in today's armed forces.

The scary part, for me, is how when they cannot 'take' Ukraine, their only real avenue for power is using nukes :(. They would be a paper dragon if it weren't for their vast supply of nukes and a madman willing to use them as he doesn't care for human life, not his own people or others.

I agree that he may go to tacnukes to 'end' the aggression against his troops. And if he does, standby, because we may get WWIII as a result. Once those launch cues pop up, there are a set of VERY quick responses that are instituted that may not be able to be stopped.

Navy, I pray you are wrong.
I think even using a "little" nuke would be like an alcoholic taking "just a sip" and would open Pandora's Box.
Having said that, I'm not at all sure we are now dealing with a sane man.
"Valkyrie!"

Rain-
Russian paranoia combined with Putin's ego?
And the fact they are being humiliated in the eyes of the world?
You and my old Navy friend may be right.
If so, our world is about to change dramatically, isn't it?
