All this is Dick Cheney's fault.
Well, except for the part that's Ronald Reagan's fault. You remember Ronald Reagan don't you? He's the guy that thought all government was bad, except of course it was good when you need to start a war. ( He used the dark side of the FORCE, ya know!)
And those republican debaters on TV...
What a loud, overbearing, rude bunch!
And Obama? Poor weak Obama can't "get-r-done" against repub resistance!
Want an education?
Fair warning... it's painful.
But it's also necessary to see how "the other side" thinks, unable to consider other's thoughts and values even while they're decrying the loss of bipartisanship because of those evil repubs.
Go here and get your eyes opened.
It's important to read the comments too so you know this is NOT isolated thinking.
If you do leave a comment there, be the ladies and gentlemen I know you to be. If you must be loud and rude, do that here. You'll fit right in.

It's an interesting take on things and I agree with you...
But to be fair, she has some good points. Congress is not what is was ever supposed to be. We need term limits and we need ethics that aren't written and enforced by congress. We need to make this fools understand that they are their by our say-so and are answerable to us.

Watch now, CJ...
See how easy this is.
OF COURSE YOU'RE RIGHT!
See?
Admitting you have a valid point was painless. I've made a hundred of 'em at that blog with no acknowledgment.
You're also right that we're all at fault for voting this imperious batch of folks into office. But surely no clear-thinking person can think the last two democrat-controlled years have been good for the country. Similarly, no sane person can think the balm now being applied will do anything other than make our wounds much worse.
I'm at a loss to figure out how you can argue for bipartisanship without listening to and acknowledging the cares and values of your opponent.
It's important to realize, for at least the next two years, we no longer matter.
"THEY WON"!
I just went and read your comment there, CJ. Well done.
How do you feel about her response?
See my point?
Buddy, anybody whose interests include "creativity,dreams...aging,... transitions... and spirituality" also needs what the Kinkster used to call a "checkup from the neckup."
C'mon, "Rain"? She, for one, welcomes our new nihilistic overlords. Don't get too close to Rain, though, she might hit you with her binky or rattle during her next rant.
I wonder if her dear friend and commenter Robin Andrea who "wants a divorce" by splitting the country is at all familiar with the American Civil War....
(Kewl! Verification word "unhex")
Careful Old Man...
Rain has a rifle and uses it to kill coyotes threatening her herd.
And that is what is so ironic to me about her.
The ability to play "how is this life-situation like that one" seems to go right over her head.
I thought she had some good points, but made the classic mistake of letting right-hating diatribes cloud her argument.
I understand her residual anger after Bush II; it's a bit like getting out of an abusive relationship, you can't just switch off the hurt, but...get over it. If you wanted a big change from the way Bush did business, that change is here.
So Rain, and others of her like mind, should celebrate the future and let go of the past. Continually referencing all of Bush's many failures seems petty when you are standing on his grave.
Duke, we hardly got to know ye!
"This blog has been removed"?
Though I was found to have violated no OPSEC rules, the decision to close the blog was not my own. I had never really read blogs much before, but I was really getting into the whole community aspect of this hobby. It looks like I'll have to spin my war stories the old fashioned way- after a couple of drinks and a couple of years. "So, no shit, there I was..."

Thanks and her response was pretty much what I expected. She's only able to see her side. I try to see both sides and acknowledge when someone has a point. About the only thing I cannot seem to find any good in is Islam... but you know that.
