Musings about life through the eyes of an old helicopter pilot.

Funny, Unfunny?
With all the fuss, I'm sure you've already seen this:
Do you find that funny? Can you explain WHY that kind of behavior is funny, 'cause I find it disturbing and not funny at all. How do you suppose independent vendors feel about the ad?
As for the vendors, most of them in high-"use" areas already have thick plexiglass instead of glass in the front of their machines - it's an option from the manufacturer now.
"Funny" would have been the crystal ball bouncing off the plexiglass and beaning the two vandals, but that's just me...
Just the person I'm lookin' for, Anon! Please tell me what makes the destruction of private property and theft of the enclosed product funny. You're right, I'm "grumpy" and I don't "get it." But then, I voted for Sarah, which says volumes about my intelligence, right?
I've been teaching most all my life, Rain. Learning is a funny thing. "Willing students" learn more quickly, but even the unwilling finally "get it" when the 2X4 comes upside their head. (Although some will be too proud to admit it, but their behavior WILL change!) I think that will be the case with a lot of folks that voted for "Hope and Change"...
Rendition and torture? Ha! Close Gitmo in a year? Wanta bet? Least corrupt administration? Ha! Out of Iraq in 16 months? Maybe not! And on, and on...
If there's no learning going on here yet, it's because the 2X4 is still too small. That "plank" will get bigger and bigger as time passes.
I like the teaching role... Thanks for giving me the chance to teach!

But then the "Crystal Ball Prediction" would not have come true Cary, negating the point of the ad.
To me it's just dumb.
Good point.
Agreed, dumb. And pointless.
Greybeard . . .
No chuckle from me.
Another subject. Would you be the same Greybeard that blogs with Rain?
Just curious.
Dixon
Oh My God. I agree with Greybeard. (!) Will wonders never cease?
This is continuing assault on civilized behavior by mass media in the name of being "funny".
Yes Bumps, that would be me, trying desperately to teach Sociology and Psychology 101 over at Rain's blog.
You tell me... how'm I doin'?
I didn't think it was funny at all.
I thought it was stupid and just assumed it was "guy" humor.
It was a wash for me. I forgot about it until I saw it again here.
Thought it was dumb at the time.
It's a dumb and sad comment on today's society. You know - get all you can and the heck with obeying the rules...

You grumpy bunch of old grumpy old old and grumpy bastards.
Waaaaah. For Christs sake. You should hear yourselves....

Probably meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator... or maybe that's "duh-nominator"...
Andrea
Well I don't know how you are doing with teaching anybody at my blog but glad when you comment *s*
And I thought it was a dumb ad and worse. I don't 'get' a lot of the humor of today though...
