Chernobyl

HBO.
Five episodes, each about an hour long.
And I'll have trouble describing how excellent I think it is.

We couldn't help thinking about comparisons to the Covid-19 situation we find ourselves in:
"Is our government handling this competently? Are we being lied to? Are they using this to consolidate their power to further control us?"

Anyone with an interest in the Chernobyl disaster probably knows most of the "big pieces" shown in this mini-series. But for me, there were several details that were illuminating. Most of us cannot fathom how many people were impacted, how much geography, and how far into the future this catastrophe will reach.

If you have any interest, and have access to the series, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Thanks, I'll definitely take a look at it!

How many THOUSANDS were put at risk because Soviets wanted to save face?
How many lives could have been saved if Soviet bureaucrats had early on owned up to what they were facing and asked for outside help?
The comparisons to China and Covid-19 are inescapable.
Watch it... and get a better understanding of Orwell's 1984.

Well, I'll have to wait for a venue other than HBO.
Does it show videos of travel through the area currently?
I saw some some on Youtube that was interesting.

No travel through the area, Ed, but as you say there are several of those available on YouTube...
One in particular is a girl on a motorcycle with her dosimeter at her breast.
There IS a video of actual footage compared to the HBO shots available, and it's uncanny how close they stuck to the truth.

Yes. The motorcycle one in particular.
