Do-Over!

Attorney General Eric Holder will now re-investigate CIA cases that were concluded during the Bush Administration.
WONDERFUL!
Why?
Think of it...

Senator Chris Dodd,
Gov. Bill Richardson,
Rep. Charlie Rangel...
All tainted by corruption, all cleared by this democrat controlled Congress.
"Nothing to see here folks, move along!"

But when republicans are once again in control of things, there is now precedent to take another look, isn't there?
Yes, there is!

I understand the sentiment, GB, but I'm tired of the 'they did it first' mantra. Frankly, I don't want to be as hostile or vindictive as the liberals are proving to be.

The cries of 'impeach' I'm hearing about Obama are every bit as irritating to me as they were against Bush.

Neither man has done anything that reaches the level of impeachment. To resort to using it as a weapon of revenge is petty and diminishes us all.

Now, on the other hand, Rangel, Dodd, and Richardson, deserve to face the justice system, which I believe is still investigating them. Any elected official that betrays the people's trust needs to understand one thing clearly - you are not above the law. I don't care what side of the aisle you sit on.

Today's been one of those days for me. If I seem overly anything, I apologize. A long week on short sleep sorta skews things toward the negative. But, the weekend is here and I'm trying to keep my perspective in tact...

Have a good weekend, GB.

Well CJ, I am at the end of my rope and I've tied a knot. I'm hangin' on, but I don't know how long I'll last.
Republican Senators take the stance that when a democrat President nominates a candidate for a Supreme Court vacancy, that candidate should be allowed to take the seat, provided nothing can be found in the candidate's history that eliminates her/him from consideration. That's how Ruth Bader Ginsburg got her seat at the table, in spite of the fact she was obviously FAR left-leaning.

But the rules change for a repub. President don't they? Suddenly ideology is a factor. Clarence Thomas was subjected to a "lynching" by democrats. Before him, Judge Bork was grilled and eliminated, also due to his right-leaning politics.
Roberts and Alito were similarly questioned, although not to the same degree.

Now we watch as Ted Kennedy establishes one rule for replacing a vacant Mass. Senatorial seat during the tenure of a republican governor, and wants the rule changed back to what it was previously when a democrat occupies the governer's mansion.
This is hypocrisy, pure and simple.

This CIA investigation stinks. And it also stands the chance of not only poisoning the candidate pool for CIA jobs, but making our allies wonder how much we can be trusted with shared intelligence.

How do we stop the hypocrisy? What can republicans do to point out how unguent and unfair the opposition is?
I would argue we need to play the game by their rules for a while until all see how counterproductive this slimy behavior is.
(I guess you and I can agree...
It IS slimy behavior.)

And so far I'm hearing no legitimate calls for Obama's impeachment, although I have to wonder if bringing a self-avowed communist into his close circle merits investigation. How in the world did Van Jones get a security clearance?

As the schoolyard taunt goes, "Paybacks are a bitch!". For far too long the conservatives have turned the other cheek repeatedly with only denigration from the libb-ruls. We have not yet gained their attention. This investigative gambit against the CIA furshishes the right with a T.R.-sized stick to use for that purpose. McCarthy is a Dem this time...
