You're right, that's a "sport-touring" bike and is all the rage for the 18-20 somethings. BUT... There are other, more upright bikes that will put you in what's called a "sit up and beg" posture that are VERY comfortable for long distances... (Think the difference between Lance Armstrong and an old balloon-tired bomber bike from the fifties.) Sign up and take the Motorcycle Safety course and get your "M" operator's license. I bet you'll be glad you did.
