The old motor head speaking here.....it doesn't surprise me one bit, especially when one considers the horsepower to weight ratio. There aren't too many "muscle"/sports cars that can stand against a bike like that.
And, any bike can out traction most fast cars. It's a lot more difficult to get 3400 pounds to stick to the road than say 300 or so pounds at 150MPH. Or try to get traction from a dead stop with drag racing.
The stock Hayabusa will run mid 9 quarter miles. I've watched 'em do it!
I'll stick with 4 wheels and being sounded by metal nowadays.
My last ride on a bike was in 1972 after falling over on a bike, much like the tricycle rider on Laugh In , breaking a collar bone and puncturing a lung!!
But, then a Corvette ZR1 or a Dodge Viper can out run that same car yet, cost a LOT less to operate than one of those Italian beauties. You should see the maintenance bills for a Lamborghini, Ferrari and the like....unbelievable!
I dread the day if I ever have to go car shopping again. My bargaining ways disappeared with my youth. I'm hoping my Ford will make it to the grave with me......not IN it, but last that long.
