NFO: I'd concur. Steadicam makes smaller, less expensive versions, like the Merlin and the Smoothee. I'd like to have one of each, the Smoothee for my Flip HD, and the Merlin for my Sony DV2000 MiniDV.
Cary is right, I used a camera (cheap steadycam) on a pole. It's not as dangerous as it looks, it was all in first gear (the camera makes it look much faster than I actually went). It wasn't an abandoned road, it was a driveway to a company building, chances on seeing a deer there are extremely small.
Thanks Michiel. I'm glad I found your site and envy your ability to turn bikes into machines that would make folks at the Ace Cafe proud. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing it with us!

Probably from a truck with a Steadi-cam...
Note the lack of a hand on the left (brake) handle - and think pole with a camera mounted on it.
Tricky, could be scary, and he's probably really happy no deer came out to say hello on that otherwise abandoned stretch of two lane.
