My Flight Nurse smiled at me huge and said, "You're not gonna believe this!"
(I love this gal... not too far from my age and always a delight to work with.)
"Okay, WHAT?"
"(Her teenage daughter) came to me all excited last night and said, MOM!...
Bachman Turner Overdrive! Ever hear of 'em?!!"
And we both laughed.
The music of the late 60's and early 70's keeps popping up in its original form or in "cover" versions, doesn't it?
We boomers grew up at a great time.

I don't know if this is relevant in this case, but you can thank the video game "Guitar Hero" for a resurgence in '70s music among kids today.
The dominance of the electric guitar during the late '60s and '70s provides Guitar Hero with an abundance of songs that make that game interesting to kids.
I like it.
Rock on.
What does it say about the current generation when they have to steal the music of our generation because theirs is so lame?
Sad...
But at least they have some kick-ass music to fall back on. BTO was great.

When I was DJing on various radio stations in the early 70s I used to call them Bachman Turner Overweight. Always like Blue Collar and Little Gandy Dancer from their 1973 debut album.

This is a little weird. Better half was quiet for a while last night and when I went in to check on him, he was busy sorting albums, he had BTO laid out to the side and we had a short moment of remembering. Those were the years of music.
I concur with Horse: there ain't much "music" coming forth these days, with one exception: movie soundtracks from composers.

good times, good times ...
Give me Bob Seger any day, They don't make them like that anymore.
BZ, I agree and I think Hans Zimmer is right up there with the best.
Rarely do I even halfway like any of today's music. At least rap crap has faded a bit, but the junk they're churning out today isn't much better.
Thank God for Sirius/XM radio I got with my new Traverse. The only stations I can pick up on regular radio are either country or some of that lame stuff popular today.
