Your sense of it is correct, CJ. It's a stunt. If this had gone badly, this guy would be a candidate for the "Darwin Awards". His type will eventually succeed in making the news. Just hope he does it solo.
Can you pull of a similar stunt with rotor? I know you can autorotate but under the same experiment would rotor be able to *fly* from that amount of runway length?
