It's a good thing to have them just a phone call away but that one sounded a bit like a jerk to me. No need making anyone feel like an idiot. When my blower motor burned up, I called because my basement was filled with smoke, my disabled mother was in the house, and I needed help. They aired my place out, told me what was what, and offered to help with my mom.
