" A Story of Heroes, War, and Tragedy."

I've written many times of my love for the Huey.
I envy Elay, who's still flyin' the wonderful, forgiving old machine. From comments and correspondence, I know several of you share my feelings.

UPFRONT WARNING:
This video is another of those that runs 9+ minutes.
If you have an interest in the Huey, the Viet Nam conflict, or a good human interest story, I think you'll find it worth your time.

SECOND WARNING:
Have a hanky or tissue at hand.

Enjoy!

I'm not sure which gave me more goosebumps -- the music or the Huey.
Takes me back to my youth when the boys in my town went away to war.

Nice trip down memory lane...

Cheese-and-rice, I gotta believe the owner gave birth to a 12 place set of dishes when Ron pulled pitch. He's right, the "whop-whop-whop" grabs you even before other folks can hear it...

Music was period, too. Now if you could just hose somebody with those .50s....

I can imagine the thoughts that went thru your mind watching this. It reminds me of the series of shows called in the shadow of the blade. (I think that was the name)

I never had a chance to see this video. I was Chief Pilot at Northwest Helicopters, Olympia WA. when Phil bought and learned to fly his Huey. I'm glad to see he's putting it to such good use.
