I had NO say in who got what... obviously, 'cause believe me, they'd have turned out pretty differently if I'd had a vote!

The idea of watching a bunch of dysfunctional people slapping one another on the back and ranting about "Global Warming" was just too much...

Thanks for your report. I'll look for Ennio's acceptance on youtube.Greybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11919862790973521778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12452759.post-50621530361648768082007-02-26T23:56:00.000-08:002007-02-26T23:56:00.000-08:00While much of the Hollywood thing is a snore to me...While much of the Hollywood thing is a snore to me, you missed a touching tribute to Ennio Morricone, composer of so many powerful film scores I wouldn't know where to start the list.

Morricone gave his acceptance speech for the lifetime achievement award in his native Italian. His comments were translated by none other than Clint Eastwood. And when the 78 year old Morricone acknowledged the support, encouragement, and dedication of his wife, it was one of the most poignant and heartfelt moments I can ever remember seeing on TV. It was a spellbinding moment and anything but vapid.

Morriconee is an amazingly dedicated and talented man and yes, sometimes the Academy does get it right.Avimentorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17508862704398151334noreply@blogger.com
