Check out ballistic specs on a .22LR and it's very convincing.
IDF (Israeli Defense Force) uses the Ruger 10/22 for Riot Control.
They were encountering fatalities using this weapon up 100 yards which was unexpected so they leveled their cross-hairs toward the loins and the shines.camerapilothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15816353137732112085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12452759.post-66051661669231472602009-05-06T11:22:00.000-07:002009-05-06T11:22:00.000-07:00Bo, GH, and CP:

Maybe I'm naive, but here's my point:

I Tivo'd "Carbine Williams" on TCM last week and finally got to watch it last night.
(David Marshall Williams is the guy that invented the gas/recoil system used on my new M-1 Carbine.)
I realize this work is "based on a true story" and therefore is fictionalized, but at the end of the movie the prison Warden, played by Wendell Corey, makes the statement that some 8 million M-1 Carbines were produced for WWII.
That's a lot of M-1 carbines! How many of those survived is unknowable, but the rifle has been in continual production since it was introduced, so there's no question there are still a bunch of 'em out there.
There's also no question there are millions of folks now frightened by what they are seeing in our Nation's leadership and where our leadership is taking our economy.
Smart folks are preparing for the disaster scenario.

So you've got a sudden surge of people like us trekking to their local gun store wanting to buy ammunition for "Old Bessie", who's been shoved back in the closet corner for years, "just in case things begin to look crazy".
And things ARE beginning to look crazy, aren't they?

Stay tuned. I'll keep you updated.
Please do the same for me and all those that stop by "Pitchpull".Greybeardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11919862790973521778noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12452759.post-44890884763804261692009-05-06T09:35:00.000-07:002009-05-06T09:35:00.000-07:00Strange days are these.........

I needed to get a Weaver rail for a scope. When I entered I thought maybe the shop was closing because the gun section was cleaned out. The racks had a few hunting type shotguns, the floor display cases which run the length of the showroom which is approx. 30' held three revolvers and some knives. I asked if they had any bricks of .22 cal ammo, they said no. I then asked the gentleman behind the counter how was business. He said good & bad, good because everybody has been buying guns and bad because guns are selling so fast that there is a back order and that on some of those orders there is a 2 year waiting period.
After the education,I paid my bill, headed for the door when three men entered. They were discussing ammo and hoping that Turner's would have something because so far their search around the LA area for ammo had turned up zilch.........
There is a fear out here likely caused by uncertainty and a lack of trust on all fronts.
Strange days are these......camerapilothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15816353137732112085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12452759.post-10761803862837873572009-05-06T05:45:00.000-07:002009-05-06T05:45:00.000-07:00I agree with GH; it's the stall game for you dear ...I agree with GH; it's the stall game for you dear friend.

BoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
